Butterflies in the Air - March Duo

Hello, friends and fellow ladybugs! We’re back again for a March mini-post, highlighting two fabulous designers. This month, we’re going to highlight designers, Dana Clifton and Shanna Heflin.

Dana is a longtime member of the Team Ladybug design team and is a master nail artist. Her specialties include 3D nail art pieces and custom nail art. She owns Dana’s Nail Boutique in Zephyrhills, FL. If you want to check out more of her work on Instagram, you can click here.

Shanna is a former member of the Team Ladybug design team and is a very talented nail artist. Her specialties are gel nails and client-requested, custom nail art. She works alongside Dana at Dana’s Nail Boutique in Zephyrhills, FL. If you want to check out more of Shanna’s work on Instagram, you can click here.

First up, we’ll start with Dana’s projects. Tracy asked both Dana and Shanna to do their nail projects with the theme of butterflies and spring in mind.

**Dana has listed all of the products she has used for all of her nail projects. I have linked all of them available for purchase in our store, so all you have to do is click on the name to head to the store listing. If something doesn't have a link, we're probably sold out at the moment.**

Dana’s first project she has created is an art piece, made completely of nail supplies! She says, “[I made] Butterfly wings using Profiles Backstage Cat Eye gels, glitters, ORLY body guard. All has OutShine as top coat and Johens Perfect Smile Line brush for detail work.

This piece is stunning, Dana!

Dana's next project is a single nail tip with a beautiful spring pink and butterfly. She says, "For this nail, I used Johens Real 3D Gel and painted it with Profiles BB Gel in the color Spun Sugar, and used spring floral nail foil

Dana's next tip is a perfect spring nail for those who still want something colorful, but don't like wearing pastels. She used, Profiles BB Gel in the color Semi-Pink, covered with Johens Ghost Chrome in Violet, and Johens Real 3D Gel.

This tip of Dana's is a lovely, soft white tip that would be perfect for Easter! Dana says for this nail tip, she used: Profiles glitter in the color Peeps and Soft Bunny, The Mobile Manicurist flower mix, and she hand painted the butterfly using Johens black gel to accent and the Johens Perfect Smile Line brush.

Dana's final nail tip is a beautiful nail tip that reminds me of a spring sunset. She says she used Johens black gel to accent, Profiles BB Gel in the shade Cover Up, alcohol inks, and the Johens Perfect Smile Line brush for detail.

Wonderful work on all your projects, Dana! I love them all! Thank you for allowing us to use your photos for our blog, and for all your hard work.

Next up are Shanna's nail tips! The first tip of Shanna's that we have to show you is the perfect embodiment of spring - St. Patrick's Day! Shanna has done her tip with a pink gel base, encapsulated St. Patrick's day glitter in clear gel, and sculpted a tiny four leaf clover on her nail tip. This nail tip is so cute!

Shanna's next nail tip is an adorable cloudscape of clear raindrops, a happy little cloud, and a sculpted butterfly of all different jewel tones. I think this one is my favorite nail tip of Shanna's, because it's just so lovable! I especially love the tiny, sculpted cloud's face.

For her next project, Shanna has done a complete tip set, with a white base, geometric lines, and flower foil accents. She has also accented her tips with tiny gold beads.

Shanna's last project reminds me of a clear, spring day. She has a clear nail tip base, hand painted with a dandelion, and accented with butterfly nail glitter.

Great job on all your nail tips, Shanna! They are all so cute and perfect for spring! Thank you for letting us use your photos for our blog, and for all your hard work!

That's all for this month, folks! In the meantime, Happy Designing and we'll see you again next month.
